16th Japan-East Asia Expert Forum Upload Date 2023-08-16 Hits 1612
On August 16, 2023, Center for Japanese Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) held the 16th Japan-East Asia Expert Forum on the topic of “Korea-Japan Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific Era: Challenges and Ways Forward.” The forum was arranged to examine the current status of Korea-U.S.-Japan trilateral relations and discuss the challenges ahead for Korea’s Indo-Pacific strategies. 
 

Professor JO Yanghyeon, Head of the Center for Japanese Studies, mediated the forum, and Professor Nishino Junya at Keio University presented delivered a presentation to share his ideas and viewpoints. Director JIN Chang soo at the Sejong Institute, Assistant Professor CHO Wondeuk (IFANS) participated as panelists.
 

The meeting was held in a hybrid format, and aside from the panelists, outside experts including Professor KIM Young-Geun at Korea University, Professor PARK Chang-Gun at Kookmin University, Professor CHO Kyung Hwan at Gachon University, Professor KANG Cheol Gu at Pai Chai University, Dean/Professor KIM Hyun-Chul at Seoul National University GSIS, Professor PARK Beom-jin at Kyung Hee University, Dr. PARK Myung hee of National Assembly Research Service, Professor YANG Keeho at Sungkonghoe University, and Professor CHOI Eunbong at Ewha Womens University participated. From the IFANS’ side, Director-General KIM Jonghan of the Department of Asian and Pacific Studies Research Professor YOON Suk Jung and Researchers KIM Mi Jung, and CHO Ahra participated.
