Seminar on Japan's Plan to Discharge Fukushima Radioactive Water and Korea-Japan Relations Upload Date 2021-05-20 Hits 2656
On May 20, 21, Center for Japanese Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy hosted a seminar on the topic of “Japan's Plan to Discharge Fukushima Radioactive Water and Korea-Japan Relations.” The Seminar was arranged to carry out fact-checking works and discuss recent developments regarding the Japanese government’s plan to release treated radioactive water. Participants also shared ideas on how to respond to Japan’s decision. 

 


Deputy Director Park Jiyoung of the Asan Nuclear Policy & Technology Center at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies and Professor Lim Eun-Jeong of Kongju National University delivered presentations, and IFANS and outside experts had in-depth discussions to share different ideas and viewpoints. 

The list of participants includes: Dr. Suh Kune-yull, professor of nuclear energy systems engineering at Seoul National University; Professor LEE Won-Deog of Kookmin University; Professor JUN Jinho of Kwangwoon University; Counsel KIM Jae-shin of Center for Japanese Studies (IFANS); Research Professor YOON Suk Jung (IFANS); Researchers KIM Mi Jung and CHO Ahra (IFANS).
