Diplomacy 3rd Colloquium on “China’s National Identity: Conversation with Historians” Upload Date 2021-06-17 Hits 1472
Center for Diplomatic History Studies and Center for Chinese Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) invited historians who majored in Chinese history and Korea-China relations as presenters for the third colloquium on “China’s National Identity: Conversation with Historians.”

The colloquium series (6 rounds) aim to deepen historical understandings of China’s foreign policy and find the root cause of the nationalist conflicts erupting in Korea and China’s culture scene. 


 


At the third colloquium, Professor SON Sung-wook of Sunmoon University presented under the theme of “The Current Status of Qing History Project and the Description of Korean History.”

 


Participants assessed the current status of the compilation of Qing History and exchanged various opinions on the popular concept of “Zongfan” in Chinese academia regarding the description of Korea-China relations.

The list of participants includes: Professor SON Sung-wook of Sunmoon University; Senior Researcher PARK Jang-bae of the Northeast Asian History Foundation; Professor LEE Dong-ryul of Dongduk Women’s University; Secretary KIM Hyun Jae of Northeast Asian Cooperation Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea; and other eminent outside experts; Advisor JUN Jaeman to Center for Chinese Studies (IFANS); Assistant Professor KIM Jong Hak, Head of Center for Diplomatic History Studies (IFANS); Professor KIM Taehwan of Dept. of European and Russian Studies (IFANS); Associate Professor KIM Han-kwon, Head of Center for Chinese Studies (IFANS); Research Professor LEE Sang-sook of Center for Diplomatic History Studies (IFANS); and other IFANS experts.
