Center for Japanese Studies Hosted the 10th Japan-East Asia Forum   Upload Date 2021-07-20 Hits 1039
On July 15, 2021, Center for Japanese Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KDNA) hosted the 10th Japan-East Asia Forum on the topic of “The Biden-Suga Summit: Future of the U.S.-Japan Alliance.” The Forum was arranged to discuss how the U.S.-Japan alliance has developed in the wake of the summit meeting between President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga especially in the military domain, and how the strengthened alliance between the two nations will affect Korea’s diplomatic path forward. The meeting was held virtually to comply with Covid social distancing guidelines. 
 

Following the presentation of Professor TAKAHASHI Sugio, experts including Professor ANAMI Yusuke of Tohoku University, Professor JIMBO Ken of Keio University, Senior Research Fellow SONG Wha-Sup of Korea Institute for Defense Analyses) participated in a panel discussion to share and build upon each other's insights and viewpoints. 

The list of participants includes: Professor TAKAHASHI Sugio, Head of the Defence Policy Division, Policy Studies Department, NIDS; Professor ANAMI Yusuke of Tohoku University; Professor JIMBO Ken of Keio University; Senior Research Fellow SONG Wha-Sup of Korea Institute for Defense Analyses; Professor PARK Cheol-hee of Seoul National University; HK Professor KIM Hyojin of the  Institute for Japanese Studies at Seoul National University; Professor SHIN Jung-hwa of Dongseo University; and Senior Researcher CHO Eunil of Korea Institute for Defense Analyses; IFANS President OH Youngju; Professor JO Yanghyeon (IFANS); Counsel Weon-jin of Center for Japanese Studies (IFANS); Professor JUN Bong-Geun (IFANS); Assistant Professor HWANG Ildo (IFANS); Research Professor YOON Suk Jung (IFANS); Researchers KIM Mi Jung and CHO Ahra (IFANS).
