Center for Japanese Studies Hosted the 12th Japan-East Asia Forum Upload Date 2022-05-26 Hits 766
On May 26, 2022, Center for Japanese Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KDNA) hosted the 12th Japan-East Asia Forum on the topic of “Latest Trends in Japanese Diplomacy and Korea.” Japan experts in Korea met online to take stock of recent trends in Japanese diplomacy and how it will affect the direction of the new Korean government’s foreign policy in the years ahead.
 
 
Dr. KANEHARA Nobukatsu, Special Visiting Professor at Doshisha University, former KNDA Chancellor YUN Dukmin, and Senior Research Fellow KIM Doo-seung of the Korea Institute for Defense Analyses were the panelists, and after the panel discussion, the rest of the participants exchanged their views freely to further enrich the discussions.

 Aside from the three panelists, outside experts including President KWON Tae-hwan of the Korea Defense Diplomacy Association, Legislative Investigator PARK Myung-Hee of the National Assembly Research Service, Professor BAE Jong Yun at Yonsei University and Professor Emeritus CHUNG Jaejeong at University of Seoul participated in the meeting. From the IFANS side, Professor JO Yanghyeon, Counsel Weon-jin for Japanese Studies, Professor CHOE Wonji, and Research Professor YOON Suk Jung were present.
