Academic Conference on 30 Years of Korea-China Diplomatic Ties Upload Date 2022-09-01 Hits 835
On September 1, 2022, Center for Chinese Studies brought together China experts in Korea to hold a conference under the theme of “Korea-China: 30 Years of Diplomatic Relations and the Way Forward.” 
 

The Conference was arranged to bring together China experts in Korea to look back on the past 30 years of Korea-China relationship and explore a path forward for bilateral relations. The meeting was streamed live on Youtube. The first session covered political and diplomatic ties between the two countries, which was followed by the second session that dealt with the economic and trade relationship between Korea and China. The third session shed light on social and cultural relations, and in the last session, participants exchanged views on how Korea and China should carve out bilateral relations in the coming years. 

Participants from the KNDA included Chancellor HONG Hyun ik; Counsel CHO Yong Chun to Center for Chinese Studies; Associate Professor KIM Han Kwon; Assistant Professor PYO Nari; Research Professor CHOI Jinbaek; Researchers KWON Mina, KIM Jinyung, CHO Minkyun, CHUNG Jonghyuk, LEE Min Jin, and KIM Young Wuk. 

Outside participants included: KIEP President KIM Heungchong; President RO Jae-Hun of East Asia Culture Center; Professor PAIK Woo yeol at Yonsei University; Former ROK Ambassador to China SHIN Jung seung; Professor LEE Dong Ryul at Dongduk Women's University; Professor Lee Wook-yon at Sogang University; Professor LEE Hee-Ok at SungKyunkwan University; Dr. JANG Young hee at SungKyunkwan University; Dr. JANG Yoon Mi at Sogang University; Director CHUN Byung-Seo of the Research Institute of Chinese Economy and Finance, Professor JEON In-gap at Sogang University; Dr. CHUNG Jae Hung at Sejong Institute; Senior Research Fellow JEE Mansoo at the Korea Institute of Finance; Professor CHOI PilSoo at Sejong University; Professor HEO Yoon at Sogang University; Former Deputy Director at The Kyunghyang Shinmun HONG In-pyo.
