On May 23, 2023, the Department of American Studies invited experts from the RAND Corporation to the IFANS to share ideas on a broad range of issues related to East Asian security.
From our side, KNDA Chancellor PARK Cheol Hee, IFANS Senior Executive Director LEE Moon Hee, Director-General KIM Hyun-wook of the Department of American Studies, Director-General CHOI Wooseon of the Department of National Security and Unification, Professor MIN Jeong Hun of the Department of American Studies, and Researchers KIM Young Wuk and YOON Ye Rin participated.
Participants from the RAND Corporation included Vice President Barry Pavel of the RAND National Security Research Division; Director and Senior Faculty Lead of Korea Studies Program at SAIS Johns Hopkins and Adjunct Researcher at RAND OH Miyeon; Acting associate director of the RAND National Security Research Division Michael Spirtas; Senior Researchers Mark Cozad and Kang Yun.
