On March 20, 2024, the Center for ASEAN-Indian Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) hosted the 2nd KNDA-KIEP-ICWA-RIS 2+2 Policy Dialogue on the theme of “ROK-India: Partners of Strategic Trust in the Indo-Pacific.”
 

This marked the first face-to-face policy dialogue held since the establishment of the Think-Tank 2+2 Policy Dialogue, with the participation of KNDA Chancellor PARK Chul-hee; President LEE Siwook of Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP); Amb. Vijay Thakur Singh, Director-General of Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA); Dr. Seshadri Chari, Member of Governing Body and Governing Council of Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS); H.E. LEE Joon-Gyu, Former ROK Ambassador to India; Deputy Foreign Minister CHUNG Byung-Won for Political Affairs at ROK’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA); and H.E. Amit Kumar, Indian Ambassador to the ROK, as well as experts from think tanks in both South Korea and India.
 

Diplomatic, security, and economic experts from both countries engaged in presentations and discussions on topics including ROK-India Perspective on the Changing Strategic Landscape in the Indo-Pacific, Ways to Strengthen ROK-India’s Strategic and Security Trust in the Indo-Pacific, and Rise of the Global South and ROK-India Development Partnership.
 

The 2nd ROK-India Think Tank 2+2 Policy Dialogue provided a meaningful opportunity to explore various policy options with an aim to strengthen and expand the special strategic partnership between South Korea and India in a rapidly changing Indo-Pacific era.
