IFANS Conference on Global Affairs

IFANS Conference on Global Affairs

The IFANS Conference on Global Affairs, our annual signature annual conference that has been held since 2010, brings together renowned scholars and experts from various parts of the world to bring fresh thinking and deep expertise to the most pressing foreign policy and national security challenges we face today. The Conference aims to explore a new path forward for Korea's foreign policy and ways to make important contributions to the international community.

The 2020 IFANS Conference on Global Affairs, held from August 31 to September 1, was convened under the theme of "The Post-Pandemic World: Reinventing Multilateralism amidst Geopolitical Rivalries." On August 31, Minister of Foreign Affairs KANG Kyung-wha delivered her keynote speech, and the first session was held on the topic of “Renewed Multilateralism in a Post-Pandemic World.” The second session took place on the following day under the topic of “Beyond Geopolitics: Korea’s Role in Reinventing Multilateralism.”
