Meeting with Author of “Conservatism in Modern Japan” Upload Date 2022-04-08 Hits 2411
On April 8, 2022, the Center for Japanese Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) invited Professor JANG In-Sung at Seoul National University, who authored “Conservatism in Modern Japan” for a virtual meeting with IFANS and outside experts. The meeting was arranged to reflect on the intellectual history of conservatism in Japan in the post-war period and draw implications for Japan’s modern politics and Korea-Japan relations.
 

The meeting began with the presentation delivered by Professor JANG In-Sung, the author of “Conservatism in Modern Japan,” followed by a penal discussion between Professor NAM Kijeong and Professor KIM Taejin. Participants of the meeting also interacted in an open discussion.

The list of participants includes: Professor JO Yanghyeon, Head of Center for Japanese Studies (IFANS); Counsel KIM Weon-jin to the Center for Japanese Studies (IFANS); Professor KIM Jong Hak, Head of the Center for Diplomatic History Studies (IFANS); Research Professor YOON Sukjung (IFANS); and outside experts including Professor JANG In-Sung (Seoul National University); Professor NAM Kijeong (Institute for Japanese Studies, Seoul National University); Professor KIM Taejin (Dongguk University); Assistant Professor KIM Soongbae (Pukyong National University); Professor KIM Jin-Ki (Pukyong National University); Professor SHIN Jung-hwa (Dongseo University); Policy Planning Staff CHO Kyung Hwan (Department of State); and Professor CHOI Eunbong (Ehwa Womans University).
