Seminar on Extended Deterrence Discussions and Korea-Japan Relations Upload Date 2023-03-20 Hits 725
On March 20, 2023, Center for Japanese Studies invited experts to host a seminar on the topic of “Seminar on Extended Deterrence and Korea-Japan Relations.”
 
 

The meeting was arranged to hear from experts on how the Japanese public and the academic circles assess the outcomes of the recent summit meeting between President Yoon Suk Yeol and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and on the latest developments in the discussions surrounding extended deterrence in Japan. Participant shared their views on such issues to discuss their implications for Korea-Japan relations.
 
 
Masao Okonogi, Professor Emeritus of Keio University gave his presentation, and Professor PARK Young-June, Professor SHIN Junghwa of Dongseo University, Dr. LEE Kitae of the Korea Institute for National Unification, and Principal Fellow CHA Du Hyeon at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies participated as panelists.

Aside from the panelists, Professor Nishino Junya of Keio University and other professors and experts at the IFANS participated in the seminar to share their ideas and perspectives.
