The 14th IFANS Talks 

The Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) hosted the ‘14th IFANS Talks’ on November 25, 2016.

 

The IFANS has hosted the IFANS talks since May 2013, and approximately 200 participants including the representatives from the UN Development Program(UNDP), UN High Commission for Refugees(UNHCR) and the International Committee of the Red Cross(ICRC) in Korea and South Korean Ambassador LEE Jung-hoon for North Korean human rights, diplomatic delegation, college students, high school students, and the general public visited the IFANS for the 14th IFANS Talks.            

 

  

   

 

The 14th IFANS Talks was moderated by IFANS President SHIN Dong-ik and consisted of topic presentations by the four speakers and a Q&A session: ▲“The World in 2030: Where We Want to Be” by Director Kilaparti Ramakrishna of East and Northeast Asia Office of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP); ▲“Conflicts and Refugees” by Representative Naveed Hussain of UNHCR Korea; ▲“Evolution of Contemporary Armed Conflicts and Their Humanitarian Consequences” by Gianni Volpin, Head of the ICRC Mission in Korea; ▲“The International Responses to the North Korean Human Rights Violation” by South Korean Ambassador LEE Jung-hoon for North Korean human rights.
