Center for ASEAN-Indian Studies at 2021 Jeju Forum Upload Date 2021-06-25 Hits 2664
On June 25, 2021, Center for ASEAN-Indian Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) participated in the 16th Jeju Forum and held an offline/online hybrid session titled “The New Southern Policy and Korea’s Regional Strategy in the Indo-Pacific” at Haevichi HOTEL & RESORT JEJU.

 


At the session designed to examine South Korea’s role in a changing strategic environment in the Indo-Pacific region, experts discussed South Korea’s regional strategy in an era of the U.S.-China competition and explored how South Korea can best advance its national interests as well as contribute to peace and prosperity in the region.

The list of participants (offline) includes: Professor SOHN Yul at Yonsei University; H.E. HAN Dongman, former Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Philippines and Advisor to Center for ASEAN-Indian Studies (IFANS); Professor CHOE Wongi, Head of Center for ASEAN-Indian Studies (IFANS); Research Professor CHO Wondeuk (IFANS).

 

 

The list of participants (online) includes: Former Second Permanent Secretary KAUSIKAN Bilahari of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore (MFA); Professor YEO Andrew at the Catholic University of America; Research Fellow XUE Chen at the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies(SIIS).
