International Law Expert Workshop on Emerging Technologies and Human Rights Upload Date 2022-04-15 Hits 3007
On April 15, 2022, Center for International Law of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) convened an expert workshop on the topic of “Emerging Technologies and Human Rights: Pending Issues and Responses”

 

The workshop, which was the first gathering of the “Emerging Technology and International Law” series arranged by Center for International Law, brought together academic professors, industry professionals, diplomats and experts from Korea Communications Commission to discuss the latest developments associated with the UNHRC Resolution on New and Emerging Digital Technologies and Human Rights and how they could affect and shape the direction of Korea’s human rights policies going forward.

The list of participants includes: Deputy Director-General KO Nak-joon of Korea Communications Commission; Professor KO Haksoo at Seoul National University School of Law; KIM Dhohoon, CEO of Ars Praxia Co.; Professor BAEK Buhm-Suk  at  Kyung Hee University College of International Studies; Professor SEO Chang Rok at Korea University; Second Secretary CHO Hong Bin of Korea Communications Commission; Deputy Director-General for International Organizations Bureau PARK Jang ho (MOFA); Second Secretary CHOI Yoo Min (MOFA); Second Secretary JI Soogeun (MOFA); Acting President CHOI Wooseon (IFANS); Professor KIM Dok-ju (IFANS); Associate Professor NAM Seung-hyun (IFANS); Associate Professor MIN Jeonghun (IFANS); Assistant Professor SONG Tae Eun (IFANS); Research Professor YOO Joonkoo (IFANS); and Researchers JUN Hyun Ji and LEE Hyunju (IFANS).
