Economy and Trade 2nd IFANS Economic Security and Diplomacy Forum Upload Date 2022-05-26 Hits 2303
On May 26, 2022, the Department of Asian and Pacific Studies and Department of International Economy, Trade, and Development Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) held the 2nd IFANS Forum on Economic Security and Diplomacy on the topic of “Key Issues and Tasks Ahead of the IPEF from the Perspectives of Economic Security and Diplomacy.”
 
 
At the forum, participants had in-depth discussions on: key takeaways from the U.S.-ROK Summit on the IPEF and assessment; the IPEF’s main agendas at the working level by pillar and legal review; and Japan, China, and other neighboring countries’ reactions to the IPEF and prospects.  

Associate Research Fellow YEON Wonho at the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) participated in the forum as a presenter, and Attorney KIM Seong Joong at Kim & Chang, Director-General LEE Miyon for Bilateral Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, and Senior Research Fellow CHUNG Chul at KIEP, and Senior Research Fellow JI Man-soo at Korea Banking Institute participated in panel discussions.  

From the IFANS side, Acting IFANS President CHOI Wooseon, Director-General KIM Yanghee of the Department of International Economy, Trade and Development Studies, Director-General KIM Young-moo of the Department of Asian and Pacific Studies, Dean of Planning and Assessment CHOI Jin Won, Professor PARK Yong-min, Professor KIM Chang-sik, Professors IN Nam-sik, KANG Seon-ju, JUN Hae-Won, KIM Han-kwon, LEE Hyo Young, CHOI Jinbaek, and IFANS researchers participated in the forum.
