On Thursday, September 11, 2025, the Department of International Security and Unification Studies at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) hosted a roundtable on the occasion of the visit by a delegation from the Danish Ministry of Defence. The meeting was held under the theme, “Assessing the Security Environment in East Asia and Korea’s Strategic Response.”
During the roundtable, experts from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on the following topics:
●Assessment of the security environment in the Indo-Pacific region;
●Europe’s role in the Indo-Pacific;
●Exploring opportunities for cooperation in defense technology and related areas between Korea and Denmark.
The Danish delegation included Mr. Jonatan Silberg W. Hinrichsen, Director at the Ministry of Defence; Mr. Jens Peter Holst-Andersen, Defence Attaché at the Embassy of Denmark in Beijing; Colonel Kim L. Soerensen; Ms. Helene Sophie Krogh, Senior Official at the Ministry of Defence; and Ms. Ji-min Lee, Political Officer at the Embassy of Denmark in Seoul.
From the IFANS side, participants included Professor CHOI Wooseon, Director-General of the Department of International Security and Unification Studies; Assistant Professor BAN Kil Joo; and Researchers KIK Jahee and KIM Sukyum.
