Diplomacy [Colloquium Series] “China’s National Identity: Conversation with Historians” Upload Date 2021-04-30 Hits 2325
On April 30, 2021, the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy - Center for Diplomatic History Studies and Center for Chinese Studies, hosted the first round of the colloquium series (6 rounds) on the topic of “China’s National Identity: Conversation with Historians.”

IFANS and outside experts had in-depth discussions on China’s national identity manifested in Chinese history textbooks and their narratives on Korean history following the presentation of Senior Research Fellow OH Byung-soo of the Northeast Asian History Foundation.

For the colloquium series, Center for Diplomatic History Studies and Center for Chinese Studies will invite historians with expertise in Chinese history and history of the Korea-China relationship to understand the rationale and long-term goals behind China’s foreign policy and to identify the fundamental causes of the nationalist conflicts recently erupted between the two countries. 


 



The list of participants includes: Senior Research Fellow OH Byung-soo of the Northeast Asian History Foundation; Professor LEE Dong-ryul of Dongduk Women’s University; Professor SON Sung-wook of Sunmoon University; IFANS President OH Youngju; Advisor JEON Jaeman to Center for Chinese Studies (IFANS); Professor KIM Taehwan of Dept. of European and Russian Studies (IFANS) and other IFANS/outside experts.
