Meeting with Author of “Korea vs. Japan in a New Cold War Era” Upload Date 2021-08-17 Hits 935
 


On August 17, 2021, Center for Japanese Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) Mr. GIL Yun-hyung, the author of “Korea vs. Japan in a New Cold War Era,” for a webinar with IFANS experts. The meeting was arranged to reflect on the ROK-Japan relationship surrounding the peace process on the Korean Peninsula and explore ways to improve their bilateral relations in the coming years. 
 
After Mr. GIL’s presentation, Research Fellow KIM Sang Ki at Peace Research Division at the Korea Institute for National Unification, Professor NAM Ki-jeong at the Institute for Japanese Studies of Seoul National University, Deputy Director SEO Ui-dong of the Editorial Department at The Kyunghyang Shinmun, Professor CHO Jin-koo at the Institute for Far Eastern Studies of Kyungnam University, and Seoul Bureau Manager TOYOURA Junichi of Yomiuri Shimbun had a panel discussion. Participants of the meeting also had an open discussion.
 
The list of IFANS participants includes: IFANS President OH Youngju, Professor JO Yanghyeon, Head of Center for Japanese Studies; Counsel KIM Weon-jin to Center for Japanese Studies; Director-General KIM Yanghee of Dept. of Economy, Trade, and Development Studies; Research Professors LEE Sang-sook and CHO Won-deuk; and Researchers KIM Mi Jung and CHO Ahra.
