5th Colloquium on “China’s National Identity: Talk with Historians” Upload Date 2021-09-30 Hits 924
On September 30, 2021, Center for Diplomatic History Studies and Center for Chinese Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) hosted the fifth round of the colloquium series on the topic of “China’s National Identity: Talk with Historians.” 

Center for Diplomatic History Studies and Center for Chinese Studies have invited historians well-versed in Chinese history to host the colloquium series. The colloquium series aim to deepen historical understandings of China’s foreign policy and find the root causes of nationalist conflicts driving a wedge between Korea and China. 

 

At the fifth colloquium, Professor JON In-gap at Sogang University presented under the theme of “Modern China’s National Identity Viewed through the Lens of History: China’s Dream of Building an Empire”

The list of participants includes: Professor SON Sung-wook of Sunmoon University; Senior Research Fellow OH Byung-soo of the Northeast Asian History Foundation; Professor LEE Dong-ryul of Dongduk Womens University; Professor LEE Wang Hwi of Ajou University; Professor JON In-gap of Sogang University; IFANS President OH Youngju; Professor HAN Sung-ho (IFANS); Advisor CHO Yong Chun to Center for Chinese Studies (IFANS); Assistant Professor KIM Jong Hak, Head of Center for Diplomatic History Studies (IFANS); Associate Professor KIM Han-kwon, Head of Center for Chinese Studies (IFANS); Research Professors CHOI Jin Baek and LEE Sang-sook (IFANS); and other IFANS experts.
