Center for Japanese Studies at the 5th East Asian Consortium of Japanese Studies Upload Date 2021-11-27 Hits 1086
On November 27, 2021, Center for Japanese Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) participated in the 5th East Asian Consortium of Japanese Studies (EACJS) and hosted a session on “Korea and Japan’s Diplomacy in the era of U.S-China Rivalry.” The session was arranged to discuss how Korea and Japan are navigating the era of growing rivalry between the U.S. and China with their own national security strategies and the future of the political landscape in East Asia.  

 

The session was moderated by IFANS Professor and the Head of Center for Japanese Studies JO Yanghyeon, and Assistant Professor TOGASHI Ayumi at Toyo Eiwa University, Senior Researcher CHO Eunil at Korea Institute for Defense Analyses, Professor LIM Chuan-Tiong of Wuhan University, Research Professor YOON Sukjung at Center for Japanese Studies and other participants participated in the session to share their views. Participants discussed a wide array of topics including national security strategies formulated by Korea and Japan; the way forward for Korea-U.S.-Japan trilateral security cooperation amid growing U.S.-China rivalry; and the future of East Asia’s political landscape.
