On September 15, 2022, Center for Japanese Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) participated in the 2022 Jeju Form convened under the theme of “Beyond Conflict, Towards Peace: Coexistence and Cooperation.” The Center hosted a session titled “Reconstructing Korea-Japan Relations for International Cooperation and Coexistence.”
The session was arranged to discuss the norms and values Korea and Japan should both uphold to promote international cooperation and coexistence, as well the challenges facing the two countries alike. Participants shared perspectives on the latest developments in international politics and ways to mend Korea-Japan ties in the coming years.
KIM Won-jin for Center for Japanese Studies moderated the session, and SOEYA Yoshihide, Professor Emeritus of Keio University and Professor CHO Jin-Goo at Kyungnam University participated as presenters. IFANS Professor JO Yanghyeon and Professor SAHASHI Ryo at Tokyo University participated as panelists.
