Center for ASEAN-Indian Studies, Meeting with PSED Participants from Thailand Upload Date 2022-12-21 Hits 462
On December 21, 2022, Center for ASEAN-Indian Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) interacted with newly appointed government officials from Thailand currently participating in the Public Service Executive Development Program (PSED) of Thailand.
 
 

The meeting was arranged as a roundtable discussion under the topic of “Perspectives on Korea’s Policy Implementation in Security, Social and Economic Aspects.” Professor CHOE Wongi, Head of Center for ASEAN-Indian Studies and Research Professor CHO Wondeuk gave participants an overview of the Yoon Suk Yeol administration’s Indo-Pacific Strategy and the “Korea-ASEAN Solidarity Initiative (KASI).” In the following Q&A session, participants shared insights on Korea’s ASEAN Policy in the face of the evolving strategic rivalry between the U.S. and China and the key drivers of Korea’s rapid economic development and its prominent soft power.
 
 

The list of participants included: Dr. CHOE Wongi, Professor and Head of Center for ASEAN-Indian Studies; Dr. CHO Wondeuk, Research Professor; Mr. LEE Sanghoon, Researcher and Ms. LEE Hayoung, Researcher. From the PSED side, Professor Adul Chotinisakorn and 35 newly-appointed government officials from Thailand participated.
