Expert Meeting on UN Peacekeeping Operations Upload Date 2024-07-02 Hits 939
On July 2, 2024, the Department of Strategic Region Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) held a closed-door meeting with Professor Yukako Tanaka-Sakabe at Kyoritsu Women’ s University and Professor Mika Inoue-Hanzawa at Toyo Gakuen University on the topic of “Challenges Facing UN Peacekeeping Operations and Tasks Ahead.”


 
Participants of the meeting exchanged their views on the current status of UN peacekeeping operations and related issues discussed in the ROK and Japan, future directions of the two countries’ activities in UN peacekeeping operations, and relations with regional organizations. From the IFANS side, Associate Professor KIM Dong-suk of the Department of Strategic Region Studies participated in the meeting.
