The 5th IFANS-CPR Roundtable Upload Date 2024-09-30 Hits 905
On September 26, 2024 at 14:30-17:30, the Department of Strategic Region Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) hosted the 5th policy roundtable with the Center for Policy Research (CPR) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel.



The KNDA’s IFANS and the CPR of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on June 29, 2016, to enhance exchanges and cooperation. Following the first policy roundtable, they have now held their fifth regular bilateral meeting. During this roundtable, presentations and discussions took place on the following topics: developments of Middle East conflicts and regional trends after the Hamas crisis, Middle East in the era of U.S.-China competition, and South Korea in the era of U.S.-China competition.

 

Both IFANS and CPR, as in-house think tanks within their respective foreign ministries that must prioritize security and diplomacy, agreed on the importance of holding this policy roundtable. Additionally, both sides expressed hope that the academic exchanges and collaboration between the two institutes, which have been fostered through five roundtables, will continue to develop. They also agreed to hold the 6th policy roundtable next year in Israel.
