On November 1, 2024, the Department of International Security and Unification Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) held a roundtable discussion with The Honorable Paweł Kowal, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Polish Sejm, on the occasion of his visit to Korea.
Participants shared the perspectives of the ROK and Poland on the ongoing war in Ukraine and the cooperation between Russia and North Korea, and explored potential avenues for cooperation between Korea and Poland on these critical security issues.
The participants of the meeting included: Director-General CHOI Wooseon of the Department of International Security and Unification Studies (IFANS/KNDA); Director-General JUN Hae-Won of the Department of North American and European Studies (IFANS/KNDA); Professor Emeritus JUN Bong-geun (IFANS/KNDA); The Honorable Paweł Kowal, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Polish Sejm and Chairman of the Council for Cooperation with Ukraine under the Prime Minister’s Office; Director Marek Korowajczyk of the Council for Cooperation with Ukraine under the Prime Minister’s Office; Krzysztof Kubon, Advisor to the Foreign Affairs Committee; Artur Gradziuk, Chargé d'Affaires at the Polish Embassy in the Republic of Korea; and Karol Peczak, Counselor at the Polish Embassy in the ROK.
