On December 16, 2024, the Center for Economic & Technology Security Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) hosted a seminar to discuss the economic security policies of the incoming Trump administration’s second term and Korea’s strategic responses.
Moderated by Research Professor EOM Doyoung, the seminar provided a platform for analyzing key policy areas, including global industrial strategies and China-related trade measures. Professor CHOI Pilsoo at Sejong University discussed “Major Countries’ Industrial Policies and Strategies Toward China” while Senior Research Fellow CHO Chul at the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade (KIET) examined “U.S. Automotive Policy Changes and Their Impact on Korea.”
Expert panelists, including Professor LEE Hyo Young of the Department of International Trade and Economic Security Studies, Senior Foreign Attorney CHUNG Kichang at Lee & Ko., and Advisor CHANG Mihwa at Shin & Kim LLC), offered insights during the subsequent discussion session.
From the IFANS side, Researchers LEE Su Hyun, CHANG Hyoeun, SHIN Saemee, and SHIM Yena participated in the seminar.
