On February 27, 2025, the Department of Global Governance Studies of the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) hosted the 12th IFANS Development Cooperation Expert Forum under the theme, “Key Areas and Priority Partner Countries in Korea’s Grant Aid Policy.”
The forum aimed to analyze and enhance Korea’s development cooperation policies, with discussions centered on: reviewing Korea’s key priority areas for grant aid; assessing the current priority partner country system; and identifying strategies for improving both sectoral and country-specific cooperation frameworks.
The forum featured a presentation by Professor HAN Jae-kwang, an adjunct professor at Kyung Hee University. Panelists included:
KIM Ji-hyun, Research Fellow at the Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI),
NOH Dae-young, Director at the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA),
LEE Eun-seok, Team Leader at the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), and
IM So-young, Research Fellow at the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade (KIET).
More than 10 experts including those from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea participated in an active exchange of diverse perspectives at the forum. From the IFANS side, Assistant Professor SONG Jisun of the Department of Global Governance, Researchers LEE Su Hyun, PARK MYUNGA, and SUK Kyuhyeong, participated in the forum.
