1. Introduction
In 2024, North Korea and Russia achieved notable progress in their bilateral relationship while the North Korea-China relationship is widely perceived as having stagnated or regressed. However, to fully grasp the North Korea-China relationship, it is essential to assess not only the economic dimensions of North Korea-China cooperation but also its diplomatic and security aspects accurately. Moreover, it is crucial to forecast how North Korea-China-Russia trilateral economic cooperation would evolve as North Korea and Russia deepen their relationship.
This paper aims to analyze the recent developments in the North Korean economy and North Korea-China economic cooperation in 2024. Building on this analysis, it also aims to provide insights into the future trajectory of trilateral economic cooperation among North Korea, China, and Russia.
